Getting Here

  • The Flats at Front + Union are located at 100 E Front Street, Traverse City, MI 49684.

  • We provide one free parking space on site per Flat. The parking lot is on the south side of the building and is accessed through the alley behind the building.

    Be Aware: This is city parking in a busy lot, we kindly request everyone to be mindful of their surroundings and exercise caution while maneuvering their vehicles. The limited space and high volume of vehicles demand extra awareness and consideration for fellow drivers.

    To ensure efficient use of parking spaces, owners of extended cabs, vehicles with accessories, and racks that extend from the vehicle need to find alternative parking accommodations in the city’s two nearby parking garages.

    Do not park in any of the other spaces. Additional parking is available at the Old Town Parking Garage or Hardy Parking Garage. Both are a 7 min walk.

    If a car is illegally parked in your space email theflats@frontanduniontc.com. This email is monitored. In the case of an emergency please call 231-486-5822.

Arrival

  • Check-in time is 4 p.m. and check-out time is 10 a.m.

  • Building Access/Entry

    The building has three entrances which include Front Street, Union Street, and the parking lot at the back of the building, off the alley. Both Union Street and the parking lot entrance allow easy access to the elevator. Each entrance is open from 7am to 7pm. An after hours entry code will be emailed to you the week before arrival

    Flat Access/Keyless Entry

    Yale Assure keyless smart lock provides a secure and unique code generated with each reservation. This will allow contactless entry and departure from the flat during your reservation. Each guest will receive their unique code via email the week prior to arrival date.

  • Each flat has its own private password protected Wi-Fi. See the Wi-Fi information on the back of the flat entrance door. The fiber optic service provides 500 Mbps download speed as well as 500Mbps upload speed.

  • Each flat features a Yale Smart Lock. While in your flat, this lock functions like a normal deadbolt that can be manually locked or unlocked from the inside with a twist of the knob.

    Enter: To enter, you need to wake the lock by pressing the “Yale” on the lock or tapping the front of the lock with the palm of your hand.

    The keypad will illuminate. Enter your unique key code (usually the last 4 digits of the registered cell phone) which was emailed prior to arrival.

    Exit and lock door: To leave and lock your room, simply close the door and press the Yale logo or tap the front of the lock with the palm of your hand.

    While in your flat, this lock functions like a normal deadbolt that can be manually locked or unlocked from the inside with a twist of the knob.

Flat Manual

  • Please bag your trash and recyclable items well so they do not leak. The trash and recycling dumpsters are in the parking lot. Please do not leave trash or recycling in the hallway.

  • Each flat features a 65” Roku smart television. When the TV is turned on, it will show a “guest mode” screen. Here you will set your departure date. This allows you to log on to the platforms you use to watch content, such as Netflix, Disney or Amazon prime. You will use your own username and password. The Roku TV will automatically delete all of your log in information on the departure date you set.

    Each TV is able to swivel and tilt to allow an optimal viewing angle or gain access to the HDMI ports for your gaming console or HDMI cable.

  • We kindly ask for the following:

    • Leave any non-perishable items on the countertop and we will donate these to the local shelters

    • Make sure that the stove and lights are off

    • Verify that the door is closed and locked when you leave

    • If something in the Flat did not function properly or was not to your satisfaction, please leave us a note or email theflats@frontanduniontc.com so we can continue to improve the quality of service we provide to our guests

  • Please be aware that Front + Union is a four-level multi-use building with six flats, retail and business tenants throughout. While we want nothing more than for you to enjoy your stay at The Flats at Front + Union we ask that out of respect for other people within the building you adhere to the following rules:

    Hallways and Entryways
    These are common spaces for all those using the building. Please do not place trash, recycling, or any other items in the hallways.

    No Smoking/Pets

    We have a strict non-smoking and no pet policy for the entire building. This includes cigarettes, cigars, marijuana, vaping, and any other similar products. Violation of this will result in forfeiture of the complete payment made as well as compensation for any cleaning services necessary as well as any lost rental income.

    Quiet Hours
    11 pm until 7 am. Each flat has a Minut decibel monitoring device. It does not record or register any conversations. It only monitors the overall decibels in the flat. If the device registers a sustained decibel reading of 75-85 dB, a notice will be sent to the registered guest. More information can be found at Minut.com.


    No Parties or Events

    The number of guests that are allowed within each flat is limited to double the occupancy number.

    The number of guests allowed to stay overnight in each flat is limited to the number of registered guests only.


    Food and Beverage

    Please respect our flats by not eating in the bedrooms.


    Linens and Towels

    Supplied for use within the flat. Please do not take these items to the beach or outside of the flat.

  • Temperature Control

    • Each flat has its own heat and air conditioning thermostat

    Safety and Monitoring

    • Smoke alarm and Carbon Monoxide detectors

    • Fire extinguisher

    • Security cameras are present in the public spaces of the building for the safety of all guests and tenants.

    • Each flat contains a Minut Decibel monitor. If there are sustained readings greater than 80 dB, a notice will go to the guest. Please note that for the enjoyment of all of our guests, quiet hours are 11 pm to 7 am.
